How to Find the Hello Kitty Island Adventure Yellow Power Crystals

While you can sort of push your boundaries with hopping around landmasses, the gate past the Resort Plaza that blocks entry to the east side of the island keeps you from doing much in Hello Kitty Island Adventure. It’s blocked by a Chococat quest. This seems simple enough. Especially since you get a Power Crystal Sensor designed to lead you to them. However, actually finding the three Yellow Power Crystals you need to get you on your way in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a little tricky due to their locations.
Equipping the Power Crystal Sensor is really just one part of actually finding them. They are scattered around three areas in the Resort Plaza region. While the sensor will “go off” and show an image, you won’t just see a Yellow Power Crystal lying on the ground. In two cases, you’ll need to enter “ruins” and grab them. In the other, you’ll need to help My Melody build a bridge.
After delivering My Melody’s package to Chococat, you’ll befriend him and get to take the “Power Up the Gate” quest. After running quick errands for Badtz-Maru, Pochacco, and Tuxedosam to get three magnets and picking up three sticks on the ground along the way, you can craft the Power Crystal Sensor at the workbench next to Chococat. You can then walk and talk with Chococat to get started.
The first ruin is directly to the left of where Chococat is standing and the workbench. Go to stand on one of the purple switches in front of the door, and he’ll go stand on the other. This unlocks it, allowing you to go inside and grab the Yellow Power Crystal. Here’s how that location looks.
The second ruin is to the west of Tuxedosam’s shop in the Resort Plaza. There’s no gimmick to open it. Just walk up, go inside, and get the Yellow Power Crystal.
Here’s where it is:
Finally, you need to build a bridge. Head down the path between My Melody’s furniture store and Hello Kitty’s restaurant. You’ll trigger a cutscene in which Chococat will see the Yellow Power Crystal on the other side of the broken bridge. If you’ve been grabbing Strawberry Crates as you see them, you’ll be all set, as My Melody will say she needs two to restore the bridge. After a quick cutscene also introducing how to restore homes so visitors can arrive, you’ll be able to grab the final Yellow Power Crystal, return to the gate that leads to the Spooky Swamp, and complete this questline.
